Introducing New York City

From its people, food, museums, festivals and events, sightseeing, if you name it, it can be found in New York City. And it has been dubbed by many a traveler who has stepped foot into this urban jungle, the city that never sleeps. Where else can you find a place open and grab a bite to eat, or an internet cafe open, not too many exist. NYC has a bit of something to tickle their fancies. New York was briefly (1789-90) the U.S. capital and was state capital until 1797. By 1790 it was the largest U.S. city, and the opening (1825) of the Erie Canal linking New York with the Great Lakes, led to expansion.
